Composition of Extraction Equipment
700L supercritical extraction equipment consists of three extraction vessels and two separation vessels, with industrial production device for exhaust recovery. Pressure-bearing stainless steel is used to make vessels and pipelines, which includes the following systems:
a)CO2 Storage System
b)CO2 Extraction System
c)CO2 Separation System
d)CO2 Recovery System
e)Heating System
f)Refrigerating System
g)Additive System
h)Control System
i) Operating Platform
CO2 Storage System
a)Function: to store liquid CO2 used during operation of the system.
b)Key parts:
1)CO2 outdoor storage tank (C301), 1 piece;
2)Outdoor pump (P501), 1 piece;
3)Some components like pipeline, valve, instrument, etc.
CO2 Extraction System
a)Function: to extract material in supercritical condition.
CO2 in intermediate tank is pressurized by pressure pump and then heated by extraction heater to flow in extraction vessel in supercritical state, which will help the effective ingredient (i.e. extract) in raw material dissolve in CO2.
b) Key parts:
1)Intermediate storage tank (C302), 1 piece;
2)CO2 pressure pump (P502/1, P502/2), 2 pieces (one is used with a spare piece);
3)Extraction heater (E402), 1 piece;
4)Extraction vessel (R101~R103), 3 pieces;
5)Material bucket, 5 pieces (used by turns);
6)Some components like pipeline, valve, instrument, etc.
CO2 Separation System
a)Function: to separate CO2 and extract after extraction.
After extraction, supercritical CO2 fluid carrying extract, depressurized and inflated via adjusting valve, flows into the first separation vessel after being heated in the first separation heater. Partially-separated CO2 fluid carrying little extract will flow into the second separation vessel for further separation after being heated in the second separation heater. After complete separation, CO2 will be condensed and liquefied in condenser for future use. Extract separated in two separation vessels will be discharged into storage tank through outlet at the bottom of vessel.

9)Some components like pipeline, valve, instrument, etc.
CO2 Recovery System
a)Function: to compress and recover CO2 whose pressure is less than 6MPa from extraction vessel when extraction is done, realizing recycled utilization of CO2.
b)Shut off inlet valve on extraction vessel or outlet valve on CO2 pressure pump after a round of extraction circulation in extraction vessel is finished. Turn on the exhaust recovery system when pressure of extraction vessel is equal to that of condenser and intermediate storage tank. Then CO2 with the pressure of less than 6MPa enters exhaust storage tank. The system could control start-stop of CO2 recovery compressor automatically through the pressure signals of exhaust storage tank transmitted to PLC control system. After pressure-boosting, CO2 will be condensed and liquefied in condenser then stored in CO2 storage tank for future use.
c)Key parts:
1)CO2 recovery compressor, 1 piece;
2)Exhaust storage tank, 1 piece;
3)Some components like pipeline, valve, instrument, etc.
Heat System
a) Function:Provide heat source for the whole device to ensure orderly changes of CO2 status;
The water at normal temperature in the hot water storage tank is injected hot water pump in the pipeline into the electric heating boiler to the required temperature, and then recycled into the hot water storage tank for storage. When the water in the hot water storage tank reaches the process parameters, it is injected respectively into the drying heater, separation heater, extractor jacket, first and second separator jacket by hot water pump.The temperature sensor signal will be passed to the host computer through the temperature sensors of each container and pipeline, The PLC control system controls the valve opening in the pipeline to ensure that the hot water in the system always meets the process temperature requirements.
b) Main Components:
1)Hot water boiler or Plate heat exchanger(E405 or E401C),each 1 set;
2)Hot water pump(P601、P602),two sets;
3)Hot water storage tank(C304),1 set;
4)Heater、Vessel Jacket(R101~R103,S201、S202,E402~E404),8 sets;
5)Pipe, valve, meter element, some.
Cooling System
a) Function:Provides the cold source required for changes of CO2 status. Cooling CO2 through the condenser E401; Provide cooling water for the pressure pump P502/1, P502/2, and recovery compressor P503;
The chilled water produced by the water-cooling unit enters the cold-water storage tank, then into the cold water distributor by the cold water pressure pump after pressured, and then enters the condenser, CO2 storage tank, etc. through various valves, and the temperature is detected by the temperature sensors of the respective containers and pipelines.
b) Main Components:
1)Water-cooling unit (E406),1 set;
2)Cool water tower (E407),1 set;
3)Water pool, 1 set;
4)Cool water storage tank (C305),1 set;
5)Cool water pump (P603~P606),4 sets
6)Pipe, valve, meter element, some.
Additive System
a) Function:Increase the solubility of the material in CO2 and increase the extraction rate of the material;
The additive medium is generally ethanol (users can put in other media according to their own process requirements), and the additive is stored in the normal pressure additive storage tank. When the system is working, the additive pump pressurizes the additives in the storage tank and inject into the CO2 system, through the mixer and fully mix additive and CO2, and then into the extractor kettle for material extraction.
b) Main Components:
1)Additive storage tank (C301A),1 set;
2)Additive pump (P501A),1 set;
3)Pipe, valve, meter element, some.
Control System
a) Function: Detect and control of temperature and pressure in real time of each detection point to ensure it is in the settled range;
During the working process, the parameters detected by the temperature and pressure sensors are sent to the PLC, and compared with the preset programs and parameters in the PLC. After the calculation, the output electrical signals are sent to the adjustment of the cold and hot water flow control valves and CO2 flow control valves. The valve can automatically control the temperature and pressure parameters of each device in the preset range to achieve effective extraction and separation of the material.
b) Main Components:
1)MCC1 cabinet,1 set,including electricity switch and pump control components;
2)MCC2 cabinet,1 set,including 2 sets Siemens G120 inverters, to complete control of 2 sets compressors;
3)PLC cabinet,1 set,including PLC control system, to complete control and collection of SCFE extraction equipment data and control of extraction equipment;
4)OP1 operation desk,1 set,to completes the control of quick-open systems for 3 extractors;
5)OP2 operation station,1 set,including a host computer with monitor software, responsible for communication with the PLC, which is the entire machine's man-machine interface;
6)On-site sensors,some,including temperature, pressure, flow, level sensors, responsible for collecting on-site signals, and converting to 4~20mA standard signals
